Inspired by the Chincha Quena from the ancient sea fearing Chincha culture in South America, This taonga puoro pays homage to the trade connection our Polynesian tūpuna had to South America, bringing kūmara and possibly other taonga tuku iho across Te Moana Nui a Kiwa. Crafted from uku, smoke fired and sealed with beeswax, this taonga puoro has a soft voice and is easily played.
